Martino Fanfani has joined CIMA+ as senior director for buildings in Eastern Ontario.
Fanfani has more than 26 years’ experience in mechanical engineering. He began his career in Italy before moving to Canada, studying building science at the University of Toronto (U of T) and joining such firms as Associated Engineering in Edmonton, Williams Engineering in Kelowna, B.C., NORR in Ottawa and Toronto and CBCL in Ottawa.
In his new role, based in Ottawa, Fanfani will spearhead CIMA+’s growth initiatives in the buildings sector, including a strategic plan for Eastern Ontario and a national-scale buildings energy efficiency effort to meet decarbonization and green-building goals across the country.
“We have established this role to drive our mission forward and share essential knowledge across our teams,” explains Yannick Maltais, CIMA+’s executive vice-president (EVP) of buildings. “We are excited to welcome Martino, whose extensive expertise and passion for sustainability make him the perfect leader.”
Fanfani’s appointment took effect in July.
